Today’s freebie is the Regina Blanket Scarf! This pattern is free in this post or purchase the ad-free printable download here. This pattern was once a kit with Lion Brand, but they discontinued the suggested yarn. You can find bulky yarn substitutes from Lion Brand here, or hold your favorite DK weight yarn double! As long as you meet the gauge in this pattern, any fibers will work!

This blog is a free preview of the complete pattern. Explore new-to-you stitches and practice the required techniques. The Regina Blanket Scarf was my first official collab as a design partner with Lion Brand. To mark this milestone in my maker career, I named this project after the person who introduced me to crochet, my mom, Regina. I love how stylishly cozy and comforting this scarf is.

The Regina Blanket Scarf is a Mini Basketweave Stitch dream. Mini Basketweave Stitch is considered an intermediate stitch. Once you understand how to work this post-stitch variation, this project will fly off your hook! You will begin with a foundation chain, followed by a setup row of Half Double Crochet(HDC). The rest of this scarf is a mindless repeat of Mini Basketweave!
